The Armed Forces College

The Armed Forces College was established in July 1997, based on the 1997 Document No. 56. At first, it was established by the provincial people's government, under the provincial military management and provincial military management, mainly managed by the latter. In July 2000, this College was affiliated to Yunnan Minzu University, and also under the provincial military management. The main responsibility of this college is cultivating military talents who need to adapt to the general reserve force of the national defense construction and economic and social development in Yunnan province.

The college has a "national defense economics" (Graduate) degree and a "Public Administration (the direction of national defense education and management)" undergraduate; has a team loving education, setting rigorous teaching, embracing outstanding scientific research and possessing comprehensive qualities. Multimedia classrooms and computer labs, and a standard language multimedia classroom are established; library collection reaches the national standard; this college has also established internship bases for students in counties’ people's Armed Forces Departments.

The college is located in Jinhuapu Road 642 (Fengning campus), Kunming City, with convenient teaching and living facilities and proper transportation. According to the general staff of the Chinese people's Liberation Army and the people's Government of Yunnan Provinces’ relevant documents, the college is under implementation of military management. Over the years, through the strict management and training, the college has transported thousands of outstanding talents for Yunnan provincial Party and government organs, township (town, street), the people's Armed Forces units and troops, most of whom have become the backbone of the system, and the quality of this college has been widely recognized by the society.
